Fish Farmers should first look for aquatic habitats for their fish habitat. It can be an ornamental fish or an Edible Fish. Here is a color chart to understand the PH of water. 1 to 6 of these are showing Acidity of the water, and 8 to 14 are the Alkalinity of the water. But fish living in freshwater need water with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Larger variations with pH are often more likely to die fish. So be sure to check it at regular intervals.

Different ways to Check the PH of Water in Fish Pond

PH test of water in Fish pond is very important for every fish farmers. Different methods are available for PH Test.

1 – PH Test Meter

2 – PH Test Strips or Paper

PH Test strips are easy to check and low cost. Available all the markets. Its showing PH from 1 to 14 range.

3 – PH Test Liquid

PH Test liquid is commonly using in all the fish farm. Fish farmers can easily test and its giving 99% accurate result. PH Test Kit of API and Universal are the popular test Kits.

Collect 5 ml of water from fish pond in a test tube from the water where the fish is intended to grow. Then add 4 drops of PH test solution to the Test tube. After 4 drops shake well and match the color code on the bottle.
