Setup & Maintenance Tips

1. Preparation: Before first use, soak the sponges in aquarium water for 5 minutes. This helps remove trapped air and aids in the colonization of nitrifying bacteria.

2. Installation: Connect a standard airline tube from your air pump to the air inlet on the filter. Use the suction cups to attach the unit to the inside glass of your tank.

3. Cleaning: When the sponges look dirty or flow reduces, remove them and rinse them in old aquarium water. Never use hot water or tap water, as the chlorine and heat will kill the beneficial bacteria.
