• Never Submerge: This is an external air pump. It must never come into contact with water.

• Use Check Valves (Essential): If you are placing the air pump on a surface below the water level of your fish tank (e.g., inside a cabinet), you must install non-return check valves on both airline tubes. This prevents water from siphoning backward into the pump during a power outage, which will permanently destroy the motor.

• Above-Tank Placement: If you do not use check valves, position the air pump on a stable surface higher than the highest water level of your aquarium.
