To maximise the performance of your filter and ensure the safety of your fish, please follow these best practices:

• Pump Submersion is Mandatory: The black water pump must be kept totally submerged in water at all times. Operating the pump dry will cause the motor to overheat and result in permanent damage.

• Media Setup: For the clearest water, place a layer of mechanical filter floss or sponge at the top of the filter box to catch solid waste, and fill the bottom with biological media (like ceramic noodles) to process ammonia.

• Maintain Water Flow: Clean the intake strainer and the mechanical sponges regularly using siphoned aquarium water to prevent the pump from working too hard against clogs.

• Safety First: When cleaning the pump or filter box, always make sure to disconnect the electricity supply before putting your hands in the water.
