The XBA-500 stands out with its unique dual-outlet waterfall design, which widens the water return to increase dissolved oxygen levels significantly. It features a built-in surface skimmer (oil film processor) that automatically removes unsightly oil slicks from the water surface, making the water quality cleaner and improving light penetration.

  Setup & Maintenance Tips

1. Assembly: Connect the pump to the main filter body. The separate pump design simplifies this process.

2. Hang & Level: Place the filter on the back of your aquarium glass (max 12mm). Ensure the intake tube with the skimmer is submerged correctly.

3. Priming: Before powering on, fill the filter chamber with water. This ensures the pump can create suction immediately.

4. Skimmer Adjustment: Rotate the skimmer adjustment valve to control how much surface water is pulled in versus water from the bottom intake.

5. Cleaning: Replace the carbon plates every 4-6 weeks and rinse the internal sponges/media in tank water to maintain high flow and effective filtration.
