Setup Instructions:

1. Connect standard aquarium airline tubing to the air inlet nipple located on the central stem of the filter.

2. Connect the other end of the tubing to your external air pump.

3. Submerge the filter in your aquarium, squeezing the sponge a few times underwater to release trapped air so the weighted base rests securely on the tank floor.

4. Turn on the air pump. The air diffusing chamber will start pulling water through the sponge and up the clear outlet tube.

Maintenance Pro-Tip: To keep your biological filtration thriving, never wash the sponge under untreated tap water, as the chlorine will kill your beneficial bacteria colonies. Instead, simply remove the sponge during your regular water changes and gently squeeze it out in a bucket of the old aquarium water you just siphoned from the tank.
