Importance of Hailea Air Pumps in Fish Farming 

Hailea is a brand that is familiar to fish farmers who does Aquaponics and Biofloc fish farming. Various models ranging from HAP 60 to HAP 200 are available in the market.

Aerator different models are launched based on air output and the electricity used to do the work. For example, the Hailea HAP 60 model aerator has an output of 60 liters/min. Similarly, the Hailea HAP 200 has an air output of 200 liters/min. We are using HAP 60, Hap 120 and Hap 200 model pumps from the company Hailea in our farm.

It provides 120 liters of air output per minute. This air pump uses 90 watts of electricity per hour to work. It weighs about 9.5 kilograms. How to Select a Air pump for a Fish Pond

Speaking of an air pump, it is essential to say, on what basis an aerator should be selected for your fish pond. Many people ask me which air pump is to be selected for the fish pond. Most people choose air pumps based on the amount or liters of water present in the tank.

But the aeration should be given according to the density of the fish deposited in the pond. For growing one kilogram of fish, one liter of oxygen should be diluted per hour in the pond. Atmospheric air is what we pump into the water with an air pump. Atmospheric air contains only twenty percent oxygen. Therefore, if one liter of oxygen is to be diluted with water, a minimum of 5 liters of air must be pumped into the water. For example, if you intend to produce 1000 kg of fish in this pond, you will need to pump 5000 liters of air into that pond. In addition, the growth of other bacteria in the pond requires 20% oxygen or an additional 1,000 liters. In this case, we need to select an air pump of not less than 6000 liters per hour for the fish pond. Or we need to select an air pump with 100 liters per minute.

However, air diffusers are also used in larger units such as Aquaponics and biofloc. The connection can be made from a HAP 120 air pump to a four meter Airoxi tube.

We have provided a connection from a HAP 120 air pump to 4 Airoxi spiders in this pond. All four air oxidizers are connected by an air chamber. It works pretty well.

Now when connecting an air pump to your pool these are the things to pay special attention to.

1. When installing the air pump, it should be placed at least a bit above the surface of the water level in the pond. Otherwise, if the air pump stops working at any time, the water in the pond may return and may damage the aerator.
2. Do not operate the aerator in a closed or cover the aerator with a plastic cover for any reason. Doing so can cause the aerator to overheat and damage quickly. The aerator is to be set up in an open space. But be careful, it does not to get wet.
3. Many people place the aerator far away from the pool. From there, the aerator is connected to the Airoxi tubes using pipes. But it did not seem to be a good system. This causes the air pressure to drop. It is best to make a stand next to the pond and place it on it.
4. A filter sponge like this can be seen by opening the lid above the air pump. As the aerator sucks in air directly from the atmosphere, all the dust and debris that accompanies it stays in the filter sponge. Therefore it is imperative to open this filter and take out the sponge and clean it very often.
5. A lot of products required for fish farming can be found at low prices in online shops like Amazon and Flipkart. But do not buy HAP series air pumps online for any reason. Because in the online platform is a lot more expensive than what you can get from our local market. For example, the HAP 120 model aerator is currently priced at around Rs 7,000.
